I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the limits God sets on our sickness, our grief, our pain, even when it seems like darkness is running rampant and unchecked through the lives of those I love. I’m having to constantly remind myself that God is ultimately in control, that nothing catches Him off guard or slips from His hands, and that what He spoke to Job about the boundaries He placed on the deep and wild ocean is equally true of every shock and thrashing wave that comes crashing into our worlds: “This far you may come and no farther.”
